Swiss Evangelical Brotherhood Mission - SEBM

 

The SEBM was founded on 28 January 1950 in Herbligen, Switzerland, commencing mission activities in Papua New Guinea (PNG) in November 1954.


The objectives for which the SEBM is established are as follows:

  1. Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ based on the Holy Scriptures

  2. The furtherance of the kingdom of God in Papua New Guinea

  3. Combat the abuse of alcoholic drinks and drugs


Main activities to reach these aims:

  1. Church planting and building

  2. Bible Schools

  3. Children’s Ministry

  4. Production and Distribution of Literature

  5. Prison Ministry

  6. Running Training Centers for Carpenters and Mechanics

  7. Running Vocational Schools for young women

  8. On the job Training in various areas such as administration etc.

  9. Community Schools and Primary Schools

  10. Health Services


Since 1974 there is close cooperation and interaction between the SEBM and the EBC.

Evangelical Brotherhood Church of PNG (Inc.) - EBC PNG

 

The EBC was founded in 1974 in cooperation with the Swiss Evangelical Brotherhood Mission.

The objectives for which the EBC (in the following it is referred to as: “Church”) is established are:

  1. Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ based on the Holy Scriptures

  2. The furtherance of the kingdom of God in Papua New Guinea

  3. Combat the abuse of alcoholic drinks and drugs, and AIDS


It endeavours to reach these objectives by:

  1. Arranging and conducting evangelistic meetings and church services for the planting and nurturing of the Church

  2. Training of pastors, elders, deacons and other workers for service in the Church

  3. Reaching out to the young people with the message of the Gospel through Christian Education lessons in schools and colleges, religious camps and Christian Education courses

  4. Producing and distributing Christian literature

  5. Inviting people to become total abstainers from alcoholic drinks

  6. Running Training Centers for Carpenters and Mechanics
